KP4 Generator Project Update

On behalf of the World Wide Radio Operators Foundation, I would like to extend a huge THANK-YOU to the contest community for stepping up to support the WWROF KP4 Generator Project. As you may recall, WWROF recently authorized a matching contribution of $5,000 to be used to supply badly needed generators to hams in Puerto Rico who continue to suffer from the lack of electricity and basic services nearly 90 days after Hurricane Maria hit the island.

As of today, WWROF has collected $12,505 (including our matching contribution), which has enabled us to procure an initial quantity of generators and have them delivered to well-known contester, Angel Vazquez, WP3R. Angel has confirmed the generators have arrived at his house, where he jumped into action and met with Puerto Rican State Convention members to assess the best places to deploy the equipment to support radio communications and other critical needs.

WWROF is still collecting funds to support our program. For those fellow contesters that would like to offer financial support, funds can be donated in several different ways (please indicate that your donation is for the KP4 Generator Project, and include your mailing address for your receipt). Remember that WWROF is an IRS-recognized 501(c)3 organization and donations are tax-deductible for U.S. taxpayers to the extent allowed by law.

In summary:

  1. Use PayPal to send funds to donations@WWROF.org
  2. Go to http://wwrof.org/supporting-wwrof/ and click the DONATE button. You can use most major credit cards to donate.
  3. Mail a check to:
